
A Ukrainian drone strike caused a fire at an oil depot in Russia’s Volgograd region on Saturday, authorities said. The incident occurred in the Oktyabrskiy district, raising security concerns. Officials reported no casualties so far, but warned evacuations may follow if risks increase.
According to Governor Andrei Bocharov, emergency teams quickly moved to contain the blaze. He said nearby residents could face temporary evacuation as a precaution. Meanwhile, authorities continued to assess damage to infrastructure and surrounding areas.

Ukraine has intensified drone attacks on Russia’s energy facilities in recent months. These strikes aim to weaken Moscow’s ability to fund its military campaign. As a result, oil depots and fuel sites have become frequent targets.
Russia’s Defence Ministry claimed its air defence systems intercepted multiple drones. It said forces shot down 67 Ukrainian drones by early Saturday morning. However, officials did not clarify how many reached their targets.
