The case has been registered under multiple sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, including provisions related to rioting, criminal intimidation, causing injuries and theft. The complainant alleged that Butt and his legal team were attacked near the West building of the City Court.
According to the FIR, Butt sustained injuries during the assault and was carrying a bag containing Rs300,000 at the time. The bag was allegedly snatched during the incident and later returned without the cash.
The complainant further alleged that Butt was forcibly taken to a courtroom, where threats to his life were issued. He said members of his legal team were also assaulted during the incident.
South Deputy Inspector General of Police Syed Asad Raza confirmed that no arrests had been made so far. Investigations are under way to determine individual responsibility.
