
Train services in Balochistan and to other provinces have resumed after a 24-hour suspension imposed due to security concerns, Pakistan Railways officials confirmed on Friday. The temporary halt affected several key passenger services operating from Quetta, causing inconvenience to travellers.

According to railway authorities, operations of the Jaffar Express, Bolan Mail and Chaman Passenger have now returned to normal following a review of the security situation. The suspension, officials said, was a precautionary measure taken to ensure passenger safety.
The Chaman Passenger departed Quetta for Chaman on schedule after services were restored, marking the resumption of intra-provincial rail travel. Meanwhile, the Jaffar Express left Quetta for Peshawar in line with its regular timetable, resuming its long-distance route connecting Balochistan with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Pakistan Railways also announced that the Bolan Mail, which runs between Quetta and Karachi, is scheduled to depart on December 28. Officials noted that preparations are in place to ensure smooth operations and passenger security ahead of its departure.
Railway authorities stressed that the suspension lasted only one day and that no further disruptions are expected at this stage. They added that coordination with law enforcement agencies remains ongoing to monitor the situation and ensure safe rail operations across the province.
Train services from Balochistan to other parts of the country were suspended on Thursday amid security concerns, leading to the cancellation of the Jaffar Express and Bolan Mail services. The decision was taken as a precaution in view of the prevailing situation, officials said.
