Marvel quietly released the teaser online on December 23 after it screened in select theatres over the weekend. The footage opens with Steve Rogers riding a motorcycle through a quiet countryside before arriving at a secluded farmhouse. As he removes his gloves, a wedding band is clearly visible, signalling that the former Avenger has settled into married life away from the spotlight.

Inside the home, Steve reflects on his past, carefully opening a box that contains his iconic Captain America suit, now folded away. The moment is calm and introspective, marking a clear shift from the action-heavy role audiences last saw in Avengers: Endgame in 2019. The scene then transitions to Steve holding a newborn baby, his expression filled with awe and tenderness.
The teaser ends on a black screen with the words, “Steve Rogers will return in Avengers: Doomsday,” confirming Evans’ first MCU appearance in seven years. The film is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026.
Directors Joe and Anthony Russo, who collaborated with Evans on multiple Marvel blockbusters, expressed their excitement over his return. In a social media post, they described Steve Rogers as “the character that changed our lives,” hinting at the emotional weight of the story ahead.
The on-screen development closely mirrors Evans’ real life. In 2023, he married actress Alba Baptista in private ceremonies held in the United States and Portugal. Earlier this year, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Alma Grace.
