Four militants were killed after attacking a security forces’ camp in the Boya area of North Waziristan on Friday, officials said. The assailants reportedly managed to breach the camp perimeter and opened fire, prompting a swift response from security personnel. In the ensuing exchange, all four attackers were neutralised, while four security personnel sustained injuries.
Initial reports suggested the militants may have used an explosives-laden vehicle or suicide jackets to carry out the attack. The powerful blast was reportedly heard as far as Miranshah, approximately 25 kilometres away. Security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched a clearance operation to ensure the site was secure.

Special bomb disposal teams were dispatched to examine the scene, while Rescue 1122 and medical teams provided relief and attended to the injured. Authorities said evidence was being collected from the site, and investigations into the attack are ongoing. Traffic on a key highway near the area was temporarily suspended as a precaution, and security across the district was placed on high alert.
The attack comes two months after security forces foiled a suicide assault on a military camp in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, killing four terrorists in the process. In that incident, one militant rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the camp wall, while three others attempted to enter.
Pakistan has continued to face a spate of terrorist attacks in 2025. Earlier this year, the country ranked second in the Global Terrorism Index, with deaths from terrorist incidents rising by 45 per cent compared to the previous year. Security officials reiterated that the situation remains under control and vowed to take strict action against militants operating in the region.
