
Bannu police successfully repelled a terrorist attack at Sheikh Landak checkpoint, injuring five officers. reportedly killed or injured several terrorists. Authorities launched an immediate operation to secure the area and prevent further attacks.
The assailants belonged to the banned group Fitna-al-Khawarij, affiliated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Police returned fire swiftly, foiling the assault and protecting civilians nearby. DPO Yasir Afridi personally oversaw the response and visited the injured officers at the hospital.

Deputy Inspector General Sajjad Khan and DPO Afridi praised the bravery of police personnel. They emphasized that Bannu police continue to defend peace and security in the region. Afridi confirmed that operations against terrorists will persist until all threats are eliminated.
This attack follows a series of violent incidents in Bannu. On November 24, security forces killed 22 Indian-backed terrorists in an intelligence-based operation. Earlier, seven TTP terrorists attacked a peace committee office, killing seven civilians.
