Security forces kill nine militants in KP operations, says ISPR

Published on: December 6, 2025 1:14 PM

Security forces killed nine militants during two operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the ISPR. The actions occurred in Tank and Lakki Marwat. The military said the militants were linked to India-backed networks operating inside Pakistan.

Security forces launched the first operation in Tank after receiving precise intelligence about militant movement. They engaged the suspects during an intense exchange of fire. Seven militants were killed, and troops secured the area after confirming no remaining threats.

Another intelligence-based operation took place in Lakki Marwat soon after the Tank action. Two militants were killed following a short but sharp firefight with security personnel. The ISPR noted the group had carried out attacks on patrols, checkpoints, and unarmed civilians.

Troops also recovered rifles, ammunition, and communication devices from the militants. The ISPR said sanitization efforts are continuing to ensure the area is fully cleared. These efforts fall under the broader “Azm-e-Istehkam” campaign aimed at preventing foreign-backed groups from re-establishing networks.

Earlier this month, security forces killed seven militants in two separate operations in North Waziristan. Six were eliminated in Mir Ali, while one was killed in Spinwam after a brief clash. The ISPR said the militants were involved in multiple attacks targeting security forces and local residents.
