The National Highways and Motorway Police has issued a special travel advisory due to dense fog affecting several areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh. Visibility has dropped sharply on major routes, creating serious risks for motorists.
According to the advisory, foggy weather can drastically reduce visibility and increase the chances of accidents on highways and motorways. Therefore, relevant sections may be temporarily closed if conditions become too dangerous during peak fog hours.

Motorists have been urged to plan their trips between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM, when visibility is usually clearer. Night travel should be avoided whenever possible because fog tends to thicken after sunset and reduce road safety.
Drivers using affected highways have been instructed to use fog lights, keep wipers in working condition and maintain extra distance from the vehicle ahead. Officials strongly discouraged the use of high-beam headlights, which can reflect in fog and make vision worse.

Authorities also advised commuters to check the latest road and weather conditions before traveling. People can contact the NHMP helpline, tune in to FM updates or follow official social media channels for real-time information on closures and diversions.
The Motorway Police emphasized that public safety remains the top priority. Drivers have been requested to follow instructions, reduce speed and remain alert to help prevent accidents during this period of dense fog.
