Cloudflare experienced a short network outage on Friday after an internal change to address a newly disclosed React security flaw caused temporary unavailability, but the company emphasized that it was not a cyberattack.
The US-based web infrastructure and security firm operates a global content delivery network (CDN) and DNS service, helping websites load faster while protecting them from traffic surges and cyber threats.

Cloudflare CTO Dane Knecht confirmed on X that the disruption resulted from disabling certain logging functions to mitigate a React Server Components vulnerability, not from any external attack targeting the network.
The company’s status page reported that the issue began at 08:56 UTC and was quickly investigated, with a fix deployed by 09:12 UTC. By 09:20 UTC, the network was fully restored and services monitored.
This outage follows a November incident where an oversized automatically generated configuration file temporarily crashed Cloudflare software, affecting platforms like ChatGPT, Canva, X, and Grindr, again without evidence of malicious activity.
