
Pakistan is set to see a significant internet speed increase after the CME-W6 submarine cable landed at Hawks Bay, Karachi. Officials say the cable will boost nationwide connectivity by up to 40 percent.
The CME-W6 cable spans from Singapore to France, with Karachi serving as a key hub. It allows seamless data exchange between Pakistan and major international markets, strengthening global digital connections.

Transworld, a global digital solutions provider, is laying the 21,700-kilometer cable across the seabed. This marks Pakistan’s fifth submarine cable, following previous launches in 2005, 2015, and 2024, demonstrating long-term investment in digital infrastructure.
The project involves collaboration between 16 major international companies, forming a consortium to deliver high-speed broadband to Pakistan. Experts say this partnership will enhance both internet reliability and global competitiveness.
