Murad Ali Shah dismisses Sindh division rumors as baseless

Published on: November 29, 2025 7:01 PM

SINDH: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah urged citizens to ignore rumors about creating new provinces or dividing Sindh. He called such concerns baseless and said no one in the PPP supports them. He made the remarks during a two-day visit to Bhan Syedabad.

Murad Ali Shah arrived at Bobak Airport via helicopter from Karachi. He was received by Hyderabad Commissioner and DIG, and then traveled to the village of Manahiyo. During his visit, he expressed condolences to families of recently deceased residents, including Chief Shaman Rahputo’s nephew and journalist Adam Mangal’s sister.

Speaking to the media, the CM said, “Listen to discussions about new provinces with one ear and forget them immediately.” He emphasized that no PPP leader will support anything against Pakistan’s or Sindh’s interests. He criticized public panic over the issue, calling it unnecessary.

On a question about governor appointments, he said the choice is solely the Prime Minister’s and President’s prerogative. The provincial government has no role, and no consultation is done with Sindh officials. He also confirmed attending local events at UC Bobak and meeting constituents in Wahad on Sunday.
