
LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched a people-friendly initiative to tackle the long-standing issue of illegal occupation of properties and lands across the province. She assured citizens that cases of illegally occupied properties will now be resolved within days.

Through social media posts on X and Facebook, the CM urged anyone facing illegal occupation of their property to submit applications to the relevant Deputy Commissioner (DC) office. She directed authorities to prioritize cases involving widows’ properties and stressed timely resolution to ensure justice.

Maryam Nawaz expressed dissatisfaction over delays in resolving cases from districts including Gujrat, Layyah, and Hafizabad. She instructed all DCs to hold daily meetings to monitor progress and ensure speedy action. Assistant Commissioners in every tehsil have also been ordered to receive applications related to land grabbing.

Officials reported that 2,919 applications against illegal occupation were received over the past three weeks, with 499 already resolved by District Dispute Resolution Committees (DRCs). The CM has emphasized strict implementation of Ordinance 2025 and personally pledged to oversee the monitoring of the initiative.
To ensure public awareness, announcements regarding the government’s measures against illegal occupation will be made in mosques across the province. Maryam Nawaz stated that the objective of the initiative is to provide immediate relief to citizens and restore properties unlawfully occupied.
