
BAHAWALPUR/MULTAN/VEHARI: Authorities in southern Punjab have made multiple arrests in separate operations targeting cybercrime, public nuisance, and alleged prostitution, officials said on Monday.
In Multan, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) apprehended TikToker Usman Shabbir for allegedly uploading objectionable videos of a man on social media. He was produced in a local court, which granted a three-day physical remand to recover additional videos and conduct forensic examination of his mobile device.

Meanwhile, in Vehari district’s Mailsi tehsil, Karampur police raided a private marriage hall, arresting 11 spectators and two women dancers for violating the amplifier act during a wedding function. Authorities also booked 28 individuals on various charges and seized fireworks used during the event.
In a separate operation, police raided a house allegedly being used as a prostitution den. Two men and two women were arrested, while the proclaimed offender, Imran, managed to escape by scaling the boundary wall, police said.

Officials emphasized that the raids were part of ongoing efforts to enforce the law, maintain public order, and curb cybercrime, public indecency, and illegal activities in the region.
