KARACHI – Karachi police have imposed a complete ban on dumpers and water tankers in the city following a fatal traffic accident in Razzaqabad that claimed the life of a rickshaw driver and injured several others.
DIG Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah said the dumper involved in the mishap did not have a tracker installed, which hampered efforts to monitor the vehicle. The accident also caused damage to a van and a nearby shop.

Under the new regulations, only vehicles that have installed trackers and provided access to traffic police will be allowed to operate, and even these will be permitted on city roads only during scheduled times. Vehicle owners must contact the police to give formal access to their trackers.
Police officials warned that any dumper or water tanker operating without tracker access will be seized during inspections, emphasizing the city’s commitment to improving road safety and preventing future accidents.
