
JHELUM: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, visited Military College Jhelum (MCJ), praising the institution’s role in fostering leadership, discipline, and patriotism.
The visit coincided with the closing ceremony of the 45th Pakistan Army Rifle Association (PARA) Central Meet 2025 at the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU) in Jhelum. The event, held from October 1 to November 10, 2025, featured over 2,000 participants from the Pakistan Army, Air Force, Navy, Civil Armed Forces, and provincial rifle associations.
The COAS commended participants for their exceptional marksmanship and stressed that mastery in shooting should remain a core objective of military training.

Following the PARA event, the COAS attended the centenary celebrations of Military College Jhelum, inaugurating the Centenary Monument and College Museum, celebrating 100 years of excellence and preserving the institution’s heritage.

Field Marshal Asim Munir also laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and lauded the contributions of Alamgirians to Pakistan and its Armed Forces. Upon arrival, he was welcomed by the Commander Rawalpindi Corps and the Inspector General Training and Evaluation (IGT&E).
