
ISLAMABAD/FAISALABAD: In two separate horrifying incidents, women in Pakistan fell victim to extreme violence. In Islamabad, a security guard allegedly tortured his wife and chopped off both her legs with an axe in Shehzad Town, leading to her death from excessive blood loss. Police reported that the couple had a history of domestic disputes. The husband initially fled but was later arrested, and the victim’s brother has lodged a formal First Information Report (FIR).

Meanwhile, in Faisalabad, a female BSc student at a private university was allegedly raped and blackmailed by a university driver in the campus parking area. Police said the main accused, Adnan, also extorted gold from the victim and threatened her using private photos stolen from her phone. A second driver, Owais, has also been arrested in connection with the case.
Authorities in both cities are investigating the incidents and have assured that the culprits will face legal action. The cases have sparked outrage among the public, highlighting concerns over women’s safety and the handling of gender-based violence.
