ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) has announced a major crackdown against unregistered food points and restaurants operating in the federal capital starting December 1, 2025.
According to an official statement, all unregistered food outlets have been directed to complete registration with the IFA by November 30, failing which strict action will be taken. The IFA director warned that from December 1 onward, non-compliant establishments will face sealing and heavy fines.

The director also instructed inspectors to carry out daily examinations of food outlets and restaurants across Islamabad to ensure compliance with hygiene and registration standards. The campaign aims to regulate the city’s expanding food industry and ensure food safety for consumers.
A recent Department of Tourism investigation revealed that more than 600 hotels and restaurants are operating in Islamabad without proper registration, including several well-known food brands. The findings have raised concerns about food safety, hygiene, and regulatory oversight in the capital.
