
LAHORE – Renowned writer and director Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has reported receiving extortion threats from an unidentified caller demanding Rs1.5 crore, threatening to release an obscene video if the payment was not made.
According to police sources, the Lahore police have launched an investigation after the acclaimed filmmaker lodged a complaint regarding repeated threatening calls and messages.
Qamar stated that the unknown person contacted him multiple times, warning that an obscene video allegedly involving Amna Urooj would be made viral if he failed to pay the demanded amount. “I received continuous calls and messages threatening severe consequences for non-payment,” he said.

Taking notice of the incident, Lahore DIG Operations Muhammad Faisal Kamran constituted a special investigation team to track down the suspect. Police officials assured that a detailed inquiry is underway and the perpetrator will be arrested soon.
The case has sparked attention in entertainment circles, as Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, known for his popular dramas and outspoken views, has faced several controversies in the past but rarely personal threats of this nature.
