LAHORE – The Services Hospital Lahore administration has called for strict departmental action against a postgraduate trainee (PGR) and recommended criminal proceedings against five medics for allegedly assaulting and injuring Additional Medical Superintendent (AMS) Dr. Shakil.

According to hospital officials, the incident unfolded after the PGR was allegedly found in an objectionable condition with a girl in the hospital’s residential quarters. When questioned about his conduct by the AMS, the trainee doctor, along with his colleagues and two outsiders, reportedly attacked and tortured him, leaving him seriously injured.

A video of the assault circulating on social media shows the medics using abusive language and physically attacking the senior officer on the hospital premises, causing panic among patients and staff. Initially, authorities hesitated to take action, fearing reputational damage, but proceeded after the video went viral and the AMS obtained a medico-legal certificate confirming his injuries.

Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr. Abid Mehmood Ghouri said the PGR’s alleged involvement in “immoral activities” within the official quarters was highly objectionable. He confirmed that inquiries under his supervision found the trainee primarily responsible for the attack. “We have recommended strict departmental action against the guilty PGR,” he stated, adding that the injured AMS has lodged an FIR against five medics, while police have been asked to identify and act against two outsiders involved.
