LOS ANGELES – Rapper Offset is facing a lawsuit from a security guard who claims the artist assaulted him during a confrontation at a Los Angeles cannabis dispensary earlier this year.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, security guard Jim Sanchez has accused Offset — whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus — of assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The incident reportedly occurred in March at a MedMen dispensary near Los Angeles International Airport.

Sanchez alleged that Offset became “hostile, verbally confrontational, and physically attacked Plaintiff by striking him in the face” after being asked to show identification. He further claimed that several others joined in to “further assault and batter” him, leaving him with head and neck injuries that required hospital treatment.
In response, Offset’s representative denied the allegations, stating that the security guard rushed at the rapper and spat in his face, insisting Offset did not initiate the violence.

The “Ric Flair Drip” hitmaker, who was previously married to Cardi B, is also entangled in another legal dispute over an alleged assault at a Florida strip club in 2021. Additionally, he faces a six-figure tax claim, bringing his reported unpaid tax total to over $2.3 million.
