Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz questioned reports that police killed 600 banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik (TLP) workers. Speaking at a Lahore event, she asked, “If this happened, where are the bodies and evidence?” She said no video or proof has been shown to support the claims. She urged anyone with evidence to provide it so the authorities can take action.
Maryam Nawaz stressed that diplomats are guests in Pakistan, and their safety is everyone’s responsibility. She condemned extremism, violence, and property destruction in the name of politics or religion. She said, “If hundreds were killed, piles of bodies would be visible. Our police officers were targeted, and we saw their deaths.”

Referring to a person tweeting from Adiala Jail claiming 600 deaths, she criticized him for using religion to regain political relevance. She accused the individual’s party of weakening and trying to exploit religion for political gains. She highlighted that law enforcement has a duty to protect public safety and uphold order.
The Chief Minister condemned armed groups threatening citizens and blocking roads. She said such groups endanger both the public and the government. She added that police have faced gunfire and property damage from extremists. She emphasized that attempts to turn every issue into a war of religion are unacceptable.

Maryam Nawaz also noted that political groups have historically been created for personal gain, often targeting others. She concluded that no one can justify attacks or blockages under religion. She called for protecting innocent citizens and preventing any group from using religion to commit violence or spread chaos.
