WASHINGTON, DC – India’s largest conglomerate, Tata Group, has been accused of playing a key role in Israel’s military operations and “occupation economy,” according to a report by the US-based South Asian political collective Salam.
The report, titled “Architects of Occupation: The Tata Group, Indian Capital, and the India-Israel Alliance,” alleges that Tata is “at the heart of the India-Israel military alliance” and deeply embedded in systems of “surveillance, dispossession, and apartheid” against Palestinians.

The research claims Tata’s subsidiaries—especially Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL)—supply crucial components for Israel’s F-16 fighter jets, Apache attack helicopters, and Barak-8 missiles, all used by Israeli forces in Gaza. It further alleges that Tata Motors’ Jaguar Land Rover provides the chassis for armoured vehicles used in Israeli patrols and crowd control in the occupied West Bank.
On the digital front, the report accuses Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) of supporting Israel’s Project Nimbus, a controversial cloud computing project enabling surveillance over Palestinians. Salam calls these ventures “core components of Israel’s hardware of genocide.”
The collective also denounced Tata’s “sportswashing” strategy, citing its sponsorship of the New York City Marathon as a reputational shield to distract from its alleged role in the war economy. “This is a textbook case of sportswashing designed to mask its role in profiting from genocide,” the report argues.

The report places Tata within a larger India-Israel-US defence network, linking the corporation’s products to wars across the Middle East. It further connects the alliance to ideological ties between Zionism and Hindu nationalism, strengthened under leaders Narendra Modi and Benjamin Netanyahu.
Tata Group has not yet issued a response to the allegations.
