LAHORE – At least eight people were killed and thirteen others injured in separate road accidents across Punjab, rescue officials confirmed on Saturday.
In Toba Tek Singh, three members of a single family lost their lives and nine others were injured when a passenger van overturned after colliding with a truck on the M3 Motorway near the Rajana Interchange. The van, en route from Multan to Data Darbar, Lahore, hit a vegetable-loaded truck, causing it to flip over. Among the deceased were two women and a one-year-old child, while the injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital. Authorities cited speeding as the primary cause of the crash.

In a separate incident in Gujranwala, five people died and four were injured when a truck collided with a van on Hafizabad Road. Police said both vehicles were traveling at high speed when the collision occurred, resulting in severe damage.
These fatal crashes have once again raised alarm over road safety issues in Pakistan, where speeding, overloading, and poor infrastructure remain key contributors to frequent accidents. Earlier this month, multiple deadly crashes in Sindh and Balochistan also claimed several lives, underscoring the urgent need for stricter traffic enforcement and infrastructure reforms.
