Zayn Malik and Jisoo team up for exciting new single ‘Eyes Closed’

Published on: October 8, 2025 4:45 PM

Zayn Malik and Blackpink’s Jisoo will release their new single, ‘Eyes Closed’, on Friday, October 10. They announced the collaboration on Instagram, sharing a teaser audio and artwork. Fans quickly showed excitement across social media platforms. This project marks Jisoo’s first collaboration outside Blackpink and her solo work. Meanwhile, it is Malik’s debut in the K-pop music scene.

The music video for the single is directed by UnderWonder Content. This team previously worked with BTS’s Jungkook and Lady Gaga. Jisoo posted mysterious teaser images on Instagram to hint at the release. One post showed a shadowed male figure with the caption, “A duet is near.” Another said, “Two voices, one orbit. Coming soon.” These posts built anticipation among fans.

Rumors about the collaboration began in July when Malik attended a Blackpink concert in New York. He was accompanied by his daughter Khai and shared photos from the show. Malik also thanked the group publicly, which fueled speculation about a joint project. This confirmation delights fans of both Malik and Blackpink.

Besides this collaboration, both artists are busy with solo projects. Jisoo is taking a break from Blackpink’s ongoing Deadline world tour, which started in July. Malik is preparing for a Las Vegas residency starting January 2026 at Dolby Live. Additionally, Malik is working on a Netflix documentary with former bandmate Louis Tomlinson about a US road trip.

This collaboration marks a significant step for both artists in their evolving careers. It also highlights the growing fusion between Western pop and K-pop music industries.
