Former Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has expressed deep concern over the worsening situation in Kashmir. He warned that the current conditions are extremely alarming and require urgent attention. He stressed that Pakistan needs wise leadership and careful strategies to prevent further deterioration. According to him, only a mature approach can stop the loss of more innocent lives.
Sarwar criticized the present government for relying on force instead of dialogue. He noted that this approach has worsened the crisis and caused unnecessary bloodshed. He emphasized that the government should have sought immediate and comprehensive solutions to the longstanding demands of Kashmiris. In his view, using power has pushed Kashmir into deeper turmoil. Therefore, he urged the authorities to change their course without delay.
The former governor also sent a strong message for peace and stability. He said that the government must begin direct negotiations with Kashmiri leaders. He insisted that their rights must be guaranteed to secure lasting peace. He explained that only talks can reduce tension and rebuild trust. Thus, Sarwar called dialogue the only way forward.
Highlighting his decades of experience, Sarwar recalled his 50 years of work with the Kashmiri community. He praised their loyalty, love, and resilience toward Pakistan. He said their commitment has always remained beyond doubt. He added that their sacrifices deserve respect and recognition. This, he said, makes it even more important to listen to their voices.
Finally, Sarwar urged the government to act with wisdom and responsibility. He appealed for immediate dialogue with all Kashmiri leaders. He warned that delay will only worsen the crisis. He advised the rulers to take “hindsight” and avoid further mistakes. In his words, peace can only come through understanding and negotiations.
