Gold prices in Pakistan jumped significantly on Saturday, mirroring a rise in the international market. The price of gold per tola increased by Rs1,900, reaching Rs397,700, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). Meanwhile, 10-gram gold bars were sold at Rs340,963, marking a gain of Rs1,629 during the day.
This increase follows a slight dip on Friday when the gold price per tola fell by Rs1,000 to Rs395,800. The international gold rate also strengthened, climbing by $19 to $3,759 per ounce, with an additional premium of $20, as reported by APGJSA. Experts attribute this rise to ongoing global economic uncertainties and fluctuations in currency markets.
Silver prices in Pakistan also rose, increasing by Rs105 to reach Rs4,704 per tola. The surge in both gold and silver reflects growing investor demand for precious metals as safe-haven assets.
