The prime minister drew attention to the dire humanitarian crises unfolding in occupied Palestinian territories and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed that until the people of these regions are allowed their right to self-determination, as guaranteed under UN Security Council resolutions, the dream of lasting peace will remain unfulfilled. He called on the global community to support just solutions that address these long-standing disputes.
Shehbaz Sharif also reminded the world of Pakistan’s longstanding contributions to international peace efforts. He pointed to Pakistan’s active participation in United Nations peacekeeping missions across several continents and its humanitarian assistance to affected populations. He said these initiatives reflect Pakistan’s consistent efforts to promote stability and reduce suffering in conflict-hit regions.
Concluding his message, the prime minister urged collective global action to silence weapons, protect innocent lives, and revive faith in diplomacy. He said that on the International Day of Peace, nations must pledge to seek solutions through dialogue, cooperation, and constructive engagement, rather than conflict and aggression.
