Qatar will host a high-stakes Arab-Islamic summit on September 15, 2025, to decide on regional action in response to the Israeli attack on Doha. Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani confirmed the summit during a televised interview, stating that consultations with Arab and Islamic partners are already underway.
“There is a response that will happen from the region,” the Qatari leader told CNN. “This response is currently under consultation and discussion with other partners in the region.” He stressed that the summit would be key to deciding collective measures against the assault.
The Prime Minister expressed deep outrage at the Israeli strike, calling it “state terror” and accusing Israel of destroying any remaining hope for progress in Gaza. “I have no words to express how enraged we are at such an act,” he said. “We are betrayed.” He also directly blamed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for obstructing hostage negotiations and ceasefire efforts.
The political fallout from the attack has triggered a major diplomatic shift across the Gulf. Several regional leaders have already visited Doha, including the crown princes of Kuwait and Jordan and the president of the UAE. The Saudi crown prince is expected to visit soon, in a sign of unified Arab support.
This summit is being viewed as a defining moment in the Arab-Israeli dynamic. Focus has quickly shifted away from normalization efforts and is now centered on forming a strong Arab-Islamic bloc. Qatar, previously a mediator in Gaza ceasefire talks, is now reassessing its role due to what it sees as a direct betrayal.
