LAHORE: The Civil Society Network Pakistan (CSNP) on Wednesday strongly condemned the recent wave of allegations against Pakistan and its armed forces by the Indian print media and belligerent Indian leaders without any actionable evidence. “The civil society of Pakistan and the whole nation also condemn the brutal killing of innocent Kashmiris and violations of human rights violations by the Indian occupational forces in Indian-held Kashmir (IHK),” a statement quoted CSNP President Abudllah Malik as saying. “We exhort the United Nations (UN) to take notice of serious human rights violations in Held Kashmir. We will continue to support Kashmiris in their just cause of freedom. The civil society of Pakistan stands united with the victims’ families in IHK,” he said, adding: “We demand a peaceful solution to Kashmir issue through UN resolutions.” Calling the allegations that the ‘Pakistan Army officials beheaded and mutilated corpses of two Indian soldiers’ a “baseless propaganda”, Abdullah Malik said that the Indian media was wrongly criticising the Pakistani forces over Indian Army’s claims. He said that the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) had categorically rejected the allegations. “These allegations are incorrect and against the facts. The reality is that the Indian forces are involved in killing of innocent Kashmiris, and arrest of Indian spy Kulbushan Jadhav from Balochistan is a worst example of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) involvement in Pakistan.” Referring to Indian business tycoon, Sajjan Jindal, meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif few days ago in Murree, he asked why the premier was not making public the minutes of the meeting with Jindal. “India is killing innocent Kashmiris and we are sending hidden messages of friendship. Its hypocrisy of the present ruling elite, which has led to civil-military tensions,” he said. He said that instead of promoting and strengthening democratic institutions the government was accusing the armed forces of involvement in political affairs. “Our brave soldiers are sacrificing their lives to purge the country of Talbanisation, and we will never forget their sacrifices,” he maintained. Abdullah Malik did not shy away from criticising the Foreign Office, saying: “Our Foreign Office is not defending the armed forces’ policies.” He demanded the prime minister to raise the issue of Kulbushan Jadhav before the United Nations as an ample proof of Research and Analysis Wing’s involvement in Pakistan. He added that the premier must inform the nation of objectives behind Sajjan Jindal’s visit to Pakistan. He concluded by condemning the recent wave of criticism by the Indian media against the armed forces.
