A new model of public service delivery has been launched in Muzaffargarh under the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. On Tuesday, government departments including NADRA, MEPCO, Sui Gas, Police, Revenue, Health, Agriculture, and others came together to provide services at Union Council Bet Mir Hazar in Tehsil Jatoi.
Deputy Commissioner Usman Tahir Jappa said the initiative is part of a people-friendly policy to deliver government services under one roof. “It’s our duty; we are paid to serve the public,” he said, adding that the programme is the first of its kind in Punjab and will continue weekly.
The camp saw participation from hundreds of people, particularly women, senior citizens, and students. Services included medical check-ups, on-site registrations, document processing, agricultural advice, and more. The DC personally heard public complaints and issued immediate instructions to concerned officers for resolution.
Rescue 1122 staff also conducted life-saving training, and various departments such as Livestock, Literacy, Local Government, and Social Welfare were present. Free medicines and health tests were distributed at medical stations.
Officials including Additional Deputy Commissioners Oved Irshad Bhatti and Muhammad Yousuf Chheena were also present. The DC confirmed that such field activities would take place three days a week, aiming to reduce the need for rural citizens to visit district offices.
