LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif stressed that a healthy mind is the root of positive thinking and wise decision-making. Speaking on World Brain Day, she highlighted how mental strength plays a vital role in leading a balanced life and managing everyday challenges.
She described the human brain as one of the most extraordinary creations of the Creator. According to her, the brain’s complexity and functions make it the most astonishing system in the entire universe, deserving special care and attention from every individual.
CM Maryam noted that neglecting mental health is no different from neglecting life itself. Therefore, she called on everyone to give mental well-being the same importance as physical health, especially in today’s stressful and fast-moving world.
Moreover, she pointed out that people facing mental illnesses often suffer silently due to society’s lack of understanding. These individuals not only struggle with their own challenges but also face ignorance and isolation, which adds to their pain.
The Chief Minister shared that the Punjab government is actively working on mental health awareness and treatment. Their ongoing efforts include prevention campaigns, better treatment facilities, and public education to reduce stigma and improve care for those affected.
She concluded by saying that World Brain Day serves as an important reminder to respect and protect our mental health. She urged everyone to show empathy and support toward people struggling with mental challenges, making society more compassionate and mentally stronger.
