Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf said on Monday that the Pakistan Navy’s combat capabilities have significantly improved across all domains. Speaking at the Pakistan Air Force Air War College Institute (AWCI) in Karachi, he stressed the need for joint operational readiness and stronger collaboration between the armed forces.
Admiral Ashraf was received by Air Vice Marshal Rashid Habib and praised the institute for its role in preparing future military leaders. He addressed the ongoing Air War Course and emphasized that preparedness is the key to victory in modern warfare, especially given regional tensions on the eastern front.
The Naval Chief appreciated Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu for modernizing the PAF with new technologies. He said these advancements have strengthened the PAF’s combat strength and improved regional deterrence. He noted similar progress in the Pakistan Navy’s surface, sub-surface, and aerial capabilities.
To further boost synergy, Admiral Ashraf announced that the Pakistan Navy and PAF will hold more joint operational exercises. These drills aim to improve coordination and ensure a unified defence strategy. He also highlighted the growing importance of technology, especially unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in future warfare.
Admiral Ashraf revealed plans for a strategic partnership between NASTP and PMSTP to develop local UAS capabilities. This move will enhance Pakistan’s defence innovation and reduce reliance on foreign technology. The Air War College, meanwhile, continues to shape future leaders through input from top experts across multiple fields.
