Lahore welcomes rain as weather turns pleasant after days of humidity

LAHORE – Light to moderate rainfall swept through Lahore on Sunday, finally ending the long spell of humidity and providing a much-needed break for residents. The showers brought down temperatures and added a fresh feel to the city’s atmosphere.

Rain hit several parts of the city, including Abbott Road, Ferozepur Road, Kalma Chowk, Jail Road, and Mall Road. Strong winds accompanied the rain, making it even more refreshing for people who had been dealing with hot and humid conditions.

According to the Meteorological Department, cloudy skies will continue to hover over Lahore, and more rain is expected throughout the day. Intermittent showers are likely to keep temperatures manageable and the weather enjoyable.

Currently, the city’s temperature stands at 28°C, with highs possibly reaching 36°C later in the day. Humidity levels are at 70%, while wind speeds are recorded at 13 kilometers per hour, helping cool down the environment.

Moreover, the Met Office has predicted similar rainy conditions in Islamabad, upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and some areas of Sindh. Rain is also expected to continue in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, bringing broader relief across the country.

Residents have welcomed the change in weather, as many stepped out to enjoy the rain. The brief but soothing spell not only brought comfort but also cleaned the city’s dusty roads, improving overall air quality.
