Russia refuses to react to U.S.-Israel threats to kill Khamenei

Published on: June 19, 2025 3:47 PM

Russian President Vladimir Putin has refused to comment on recent threats made by the United States and Israel. These threats were reportedly aimed at Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The remarks came during his speech at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, a major global event held annually in Russia. When asked directly about the situation, Putin stayed silent on the threats and shifted the focus toward regional stability.

Instead of reacting strongly, Putin stated that Russia was not trying to control or pressure anyone. However, he emphasized the need to talk about how to solve current problems. He avoided blaming any country directly. His response showed that Russia wants to stay calm and balanced during these rising tensions. This also shows Putin’s usual approach of choosing diplomacy over conflict.

The threats came after former U.S. President Donald Trump made aggressive statements about Iran’s leadership. Trump said he knew where Khamenei was and called him an “easy target.” He also said they had not acted yet, but clearly sent a warning. This raised concerns about possible military actions or secret missions. The comments spread widely and sparked strong reactions from many sides.

Reports also claimed that Israel had made a plan to assassinate Khamenei. However, the plan was reportedly blocked by the U.S. President. This added more heat to an already tense situation in the Middle East. The region has faced many issues recently, and this news added more fear of conflict. World leaders have started calling for calm and thoughtful steps.

Although Putin remained silent on the threats, his comments showed that Russia is watching the situation closely. He wants the region to avoid more violence. His choice not to speak directly about the threats shows a careful political move. It also highlights Russia’s aim to act as a mediator rather than a fighter in this global conflict.
