The Sindh government has announced a four-day public holiday for Eid-ul-Adha from Friday, June 6, to Monday, June 9, 2025. The decision was made official through a notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department. These holidays will apply to all government offices, autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils under the provincial administration.
The notification, signed by Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, also clarified that essential services will continue to operate during this holiday period. The order has been shared with all relevant departments, including law enforcement, revenue, and local government institutions to ensure smooth enforcement.
Eid-ul-Adha, known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is an important Islamic festival celebrated with communal prayers, animal sacrifices, and sharing meat with family, friends, and the needy. This holiday allows people time to observe these traditions and spend time with loved ones.
The federal government has also declared a similar four-day holiday from June 6 to June 9 for Eid celebrations nationwide. The synchronized holidays aim to facilitate smooth and widespread observance of this significant festival across Pakistan.
Citizens are advised to plan accordingly as offices and institutions will remain closed during these days, except for essential services. The government hopes that this break will provide a peaceful and joyous Eid for everyone in the province.
