Asif Raza Mir breaks silence on Ahad-Sajal divorce, confirms working with ex-daughter-in-law

Veteran actor Asif Raza Mir has finally spoken about the divorce of his son Ahad Raza Mir and actress Sajal Aly, saying that “relationships may end, but life goes on.” This marks the first public comment from the Mir family regarding the high-profile separation.

Speaking on TV host Maliha Rehman’s show, Asif Raza Mir confirmed that he is working with Sajal Aly in an upcoming drama titled “Main Manto Nahin Hoon”, where he plays the role of her father. He admitted he was initially surprised by the offer but said both actors agreed to keep things professional and respectful, despite their personal history.

Commenting on the divorce, he said, “If a relationship doesn’t work, it ends — and that’s a part of life. Human relationships are formed and broken, but that doesn’t mean life should stop or lose purpose.” He praised Sajal’s courage and maturity in choosing to work together, showing that art should rise above personal history.

Referring to a viral video of Ahad and Sajal at the same awards event, he said the family is mature enough not to be affected by online rumors or gossip. He emphasized the importance of moving forward with dignity, rather than reopening old wounds.

Ahad and Sajal were married in March 2020, but rumors of divorce surfaced in 2022. Though neither addressed the issue publicly, this interview is the first time a close family member has confirmed the separation and shared insight into how both sides are handling it with grace and professionalism.
