Sir: This letter refers to a particular problem being faced by students enrolled in the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) for the last one month. The problem sounds quite strange but is important nonetheless. Each seat for a hostel room has been, reportedly, allotted to two students due to which the students are facing adjustment problems. This confusion has been affected several students in the university. However, half of the semester has passed and the students who are victims of this confusion have remained deprived of permanent rooms for all this time. Moreover, they (the students) have submitted their hostel fees before the due date, yet no rooms have been allotted to them through the normal procedure. Consequently, they are compelled to live in private hostels, despite paying all hostel dues; they now have to pay monthly charges to a private hostel. This seems unfair. It has been observed that it is creating a sense of disappointment among the students with the administration of the university. I request the authorities of the university to take efficient measures to solve the issue as soon as possible. JAHANZAIB GICHKI Islamabad
