ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Bangladesh on Sunday dismissed an appeal seeking the scrapping of a death sentence for the former head of a banned militant group Mufti Hannan. Hannan and his accomplices were found guilty in 2008 of orchestrating the attack against British High Commissioner Anwar Choudhury in Sylhet in 2004. He was also sentenced to death for another attack in 2001 that killed 10 people during a New Year’s celebration.
