LAHORE: Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) and squash legend Jansher Khan will work jointly for betterment of squash in Punjab and training of TEVTA students as per international standards. TEVTA will also take charge of squash courts and facilitate their students. In this regard a meeting was held at TEVTA secretariat here on Friday in which Jansher, TEVTA chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh and coach Farooq Butt participated. Speaking on occasion, Jansher said that Pakistan youth had talent as equal to youth of developed countries but they were not available with the required resources and training. “I will provide consultancy to TEVTA for training of its students.” Jansher further said that youth of Punjab would be able to get squash training as per international standards. Irfan said Jansher was Pakistan’s national hero and his consultancy would be an honour for TEVTA. “Physical training of our youth is necessary and this is the reason that TEVTA wants to train its students in squash. We request the Sports Board Punjab to provide squash courts to TEVTA and we will renovate them as per requirement,” Irfan said. More than 200 students of TEVTA will get training in these squash courts under the supervision of Jansher. TEVTA will bear all the expenses of the renovation and rebuilding of these squash courts.
