UMERKOT: Pakistan Tehreek Insaf on Sunday held a protest demonstration against the forced conversion of a Hindu girl and her marriage with a Muslim. PTI leader Lal Malhi was leading the demonstration. He told journalists that Ravita Menghwar who embraced Islam before she married Ali Nawaz Shah at Gulzar-e Khalil Madarssah owned by Pir Ayoob Jan Sarhandi appeared to be a child in the photo of the newspaper. He said that the court must ask her how old she was when she tied the knot with her Muslim partner. He said that Gulzar-e Khalil Madarssah was notorious for converting Hindu girls forcibly to Islam; therefore the court and higher authorities should conduct inquiry against the Madrassah so that people could know the truth. Advocate Bhagchand Bheel said that the marriage of Ravita Manghwar was a violation of the Minority Protection Bill passed by Sindh Assembly. He further said that a girl constitutionally could not marry at the age of sixteen while Ravita looked she may have been sixteen years old. Others also spoke and said that Hindu girls were victims of traditional Muslim society as law, public and police do not support Hindus in these cases.
