ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has once again jumped into the role of a mediator between the two key political leaders of Pakistan. According to the sources, Fazl has engaged the co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto to convey the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s message to the former president Asif Ali Zardari. This should help break the ice between two political giants who are both coincidently in London for personal reasons. Sources also said that after PM Nawaz asked Fazl to remove the misunderstanding between him and Zardari, Fazl contacted a former National Assembly speaker Faisal Karim Kundi who is also a close aide of Bilawal. Karim talked to Fazl after his meeting with Zardari and after Fazl then informed the PM who is now on a four-day visit to London and a meeting is expected between him and Zardari. Earlier, the adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Information and Archives, Maula Bakhsh Chandio had made a statement in Hyderabad that that the prime minister had always turned to PPP in times of crisis and now he has asked Zardari to come to his aid again in saving democracy. The time and place for the meeting has not been decided yet but the meeting is likely to take place soon.
