ISLAMABAD: After refusal of Sweden, the Pakistani engineers completely overhauled the Awacs plane that was destroyed by terrorists during an attack while Azerbaijan, Zimbabwe and Cameroon also showed interest in purchasing super MASHAK aircrafts. Nigeria would buy the JF 17 thunder. This was disclosed by the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Chairman Kamra Arshad Malik on Wednesday in a Standing Committee on Defence Production that met in the Parliament House under the Chairmanship of Khawaja Sohail Mansoor. He said that four aircraft have been handed over to Nigeria while 52 aircraft will be provided to Turkey. Qatar will also purchase a Super Mashak from Pakistan and agreements have been signed with them. It was one of the best trainer aircraft in the world and economical to boot. He disclosed that JF 17 Thunder aircraft is the future of PAF and it was the one of the best assets of the PAF .70 JF 17 Thunders have been inducted in the PAF so far and state of the art technology has been used in this. The Committee appreciated the peerless performance of former COAS General Raheel Sharif, especially his concentration towards Zarb-e-Azab, China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and Line of Control (LOC) situation. The Committee paid homage to his unsurpassed efficiency and excellence being a courageous Commander of Pakistan Army. The Committee Members have stated that he took the Pakistan Army to the leading edge of the world. The Committee Members passed their best wishes to General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the new Chief of Army Staff.
