The second day of the prestigious PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2016 was held in Lahore at the Expo Centre, attended in full by some of the country’s biggest media personalities, rubbing shoulders with socialites, fashionistas, A-listers and journalists. Nomi Ansari Karachi-based designer Nomi Ansari opened the second day with his collection titled Joy Ride, which was fun, young and hip. It was a complete retro collection, featuring jumpers, flares and super fun prints. Smiley peplum dresses were the key highlight of his collection. A fun, summery and brightly embellished collection stood out for its perkiness. Singer and actor Junaid Khan along with Fauzia Aman showstopped for the designer. Mahgul Mahgul was up next with her collection titled Indus Society. A casual lounge and sports-wear vibe was dominant throughout her collection along with some super cool statement accessories from the designer extraordinaire Zohra Rahman. Nickie Nina Design duo powerhouse Nickie Nina with their Flechazo collection showcased next. They were inspired by the rich culture of the Spanish Metadora. A combination of relaxed tops with structured bustiers along with palazzos and culottes of different lengths were paired with wraps. Sania Maskatiya Sania Maskatiya’s collection was an ode to the Art Deco movement combining bold geometrics with aspects of abstraction and simplification. Streamlined silhouettes with an emphasis on texture was shown. Other than that, matching separates, lots of embroideries and bold geometrics stood out in her collection. Lovely crop tops and jackets were the key highlights of Maskatiya’s collection. Ali Xeeshan The Ali Xeeshan Theatre Studio was up next with the collection Voodoo. It was a very trendy collection with unconventional metallic surface embellishments, off-shoulder tops, summer jackets and ’70s-influenced bottoms! It was a bright neon collection, with some dominant embellishments. Grey tweed jackets and pants for men with digital print cotton tops were paired with separate cotton pants as well. Karma Pink Maheen Kardar-Ali of Karma Pink closed Day 2 with her Studio 54 collection, inspired by the super glamorous, sexy and wild disco parties. Sequins, boot cuts, flapper pants and short shirts than doubled as mini dresses were some of her most exquisite designs. Batwing shift dresses were the highlights of her collection. The jewellery for her collection was done by Prerto.
