PESHAWAR: The Provincial Minister for Water and Energy Mohammad Atif Khan stressed upon the need to increase the speed of work on establishment Oil Refinery and Power Plants which will provide thousands of local jobs in the Province. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Government increased the Annual Production of Oil from 29,500 Barrels to 54,000 Barrels while annual Gas Production was increased from 44 MMCFD To 550 Ton and the would be further Increased till 2015. The Minster on Wednesday Presided over a meeting regarding KP’s oil and Gas Company limited at Peshawar. The meeting was attended by Engineer Naeem Khan Secretary Power, Chief Executive Oil and Gas Company Razi Uddin and others along the Chief Executive PADWA Akbar Ayub. The meeting was informed about the discoveries made for Gas and Oil in Peshawar and Nowshera Blocks.The meeting was also informed about the progress in the works to produce more energy from water and Oil Gas in different sectors of the Province. Honour: Provincial Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW) while taking notice of killing of Hina Shahawaz in Kohat in the name of honor, has demanded the progress of the case from the relevant police station. “It is very unfortunate that the main accused of Hina Shahnawaz case is still free and police found no trace of him even after seven days of the incident,” said Neelam Toru, Chairperson KP PCSW. In a press statement issued here on Wednesday, Neelam Toru said Speaker KP assembly has also taken notice of the case. From day one the case till date the provincial commission is keeping record of the progress. Provincial commission is in contact with family of deceased and is committed to extend every kind of support under their mandate to the family. PCSW is in contact with the relevant police officer and according to the police protection is provided to the family. During a meeting with Blue Veins a non-for profit organization, PCSW discussed the case of Hina Shahnawaz and ask for sharing the updates of the case and highlighted the issue of honor killing and its increasing ratio in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. PCSW has also pointed out the weakness in the FIR that the FIR has been reported on the base of murder while the section of honor killing is missing.
