Published on: May 24, 2017 4:56 AM

LARKANA: Former Pakistan Ambassador to United Nations Abdullah Hussain Haroon has started political activities from Larkana and started working with anti-PPP forces in the district, for which he is staying in the city for the past two days.

On Monday he participated in an anti-PPP alliance & like-minded people known as Larkana Awami Ittehad and on Tuesday he also took part in another meeting held at Darab Khan Waleed which was convened by People’s Party workers leader & former MPA Haji Munawar Ali Abbasi.

Haji Munwar Abbasi, his son Moazzam Ali Abbasi, Jeay Sindh Mahaz Chairman Riaz Chandio and other leaders also participated in the meeting along with a large audience. The purpose of the meeting was to create awareness about the forthcoming elections and know their sentiments. Hussain Haroon has already expressed his willingness to take part in the upcoming elections. While talking to media he said that if need be he will contest the next general elections. He said it makes no difference that some people are claiming that they will win the next elections but they want to see the opinion of the people which is changing. He said Haji Munwar Abbasi is an important political figure, his family has constantly remained part of parliamentary politics and they have done a lot to unite the political forces. The former Sindh Assembly speaker said that Larkana has been producing political leaders since centuries adding that if these big families do not come out then it will bear far reaching political consequences not only for Larkana but all of Sindh. He said that we have come together and we want to give new colour not only to Larkana but the entire province. He said there is no matter of leadership among them adding we will march forward together and the youth will come in to our fold gradually adding it is possible that one young man may lead us. Hussain Haroon said that in Sindh government revenue is being stolen which we want to get back and deposit in the government treasury. He said that no development has taken place in Larkana and its roads have not yet been constructed neither problems faced by the people have been resolved.

He said without naming Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that you were representing a nuclear enabled nation but were not allowed to speak in Riyadh adding that people have the right to ask you, why? Haroon said that our family gave money at the time of creation of Pakistan to manage its affairs and added that he spent his own money when he was appointed as UN Ambassador of Pakistan. He said that he was also given representative-at the security council but he saw that wrong is being done there therefore he stepped aside. Hussain Haroon, in reply to a question said that to get the people united from Karachi to Kashmore and if they needed help of the Pak Sarzameen Party and other political forces then talks will be held with them also. He said that people’s opinion matters the most for them. He said Muttahida leader is the matter of the past.
