Zubab Rana ready to stun everyone with ‘Bharaas’

Published on: September 27, 2020 5:33 AM

Zubab Rana is without a doubt one of the most promising new artists and exciting faces of Pakistan’s television industry.

Despite only being around for a while and still exploring a vision and direction to take her career in, Zubab has solidified her place in the audiences’ hearts, thanks to her impeccable acting and brilliant choices that she has made for herself as an artist. She managed to get everyone’s attention which wasn’t long ago and today, she’s one of the few actresses who can make love to the camera and live up to the expectations of directors, storytellers and viewers.

Rana’s debut came with a prominent role in Hum TV’s Naseebo Jali that aired in 2017. Some other actress would have opted to follow that up with a string of tried and tested projects that fell under the category of romantic dramas playing girl next door characters but that wasn’t part of Rana’s plan. Right after her first show, Rana chose to portray an out and out negative character Aleena in Mere Khudaya, a social based on social issues that aired in 2018. After vowing critics and audiences alike in the show for which she received a nomination for Best Emerging Talent at the 18th Lux Style Awards, Rana left everyone amazed with the horror series Bandish (2019).

Rana’s breakout role came with Mehboob Apky Qadmon Mein. It quickly became the most followed and talked about show of the season. Rana portarayed the character of Sunaina, a young girl who’s life gets destroyed because of the evil of black magic. Rana’s Sunaina was hailed as one of the most accurate depiction of someone who is battling her way through the evil of black magic. She was vulnerable, scared and strong willed at the same time. Her performance was emotionally draining, captivating and spell-binding in every sense of the word.

And it looks like Rana is in no mood to slow down and catch a break from all the success and accolades that have come her way. She is ready with another project that’s has left her fans and audiences eager to see her next act. Rana is set to star in the new show “Bharaas”. The show will tackle the themes of love, hatred, envy, heartbreak, revenge and destruction.

Rana will portray the character of Kiran, the show’s primary antagonist who will do whatever it takes to ruin Zoya and get her out of Hassan’s life, the man that she’s obsessed with. The announcement of the show was itself welcomed with a praise and excitement because of the casting and the storyline.

The curiosity and eagerness of audiences grew tenfold with the release of the show’s trailer. From what we have seen so far, Rana has nailed her character and its nuances. Even though the angle of a girl being in love with someone else’s significant other has been dealt with before, it looks like Rana has graced the character with a lot of conviction. She looks gorgeous, appears equally menacing and relentless and doesn’t look like she will rest until she has gotten what she wants. It looks like Rana has another winner on her hands and her performance will be a treat for her fans and her critics.

The show also features prominent names including Dur-Fishan Saleem, Omer Shahzad, Furqan Qureshi and Behroze Sabzwari among others. It is written by Adeel Razzaq and directed by Nain Maniar. It will air from 28th September, 2020 at 9pm only on ARY Digital.
