Asad Jabal announces the title of his upcoming serial

Published on: January 20, 2020 7:58 AM

Pakistani television director Asad Jabal has disclosed a few details of his upcoming project on social media. He tells that his next drama serial is titled “Fitrat” which will go on air on GEO TV as a production of 7th Sky Entertainment. Recently, Asad Jabal’s blockbuster serial, “Mera Rab Waris” was also telecasted on the same channel and under the banner of the same production house. Expressing his liking for the production house in a former discussion with Daily Times, Asad Jabal said that Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi are people who know how to make a drama serial look presentable on screen. Therefore, he is quite happy at being trusted once again by 7th Sky Entertainment’s producers with whom he has developed a good chemistry owing to his previous successful collaboration with them.

Asad Jabal has given some hit serials to the Pakistani drama industry in the past such as ‘Sangdil,’ ‘Parchayeen’ and ‘Band Khirkiyan.’ His currently running project is “Malaal-e-Yaar”, a story based on conservative values running through generations and creating problems for the progressive youngsters. The director usually goes for stories that are intense and full of emotions, one fine example being “Parchayeen”, a HUM TV project starring Asif Raza Mir, Sabreen Hisbani, Minaal Khan, Hammad Farooqui and Qavi Khan. The serial also gave Asad Jabal recognition as a competent director in the field and is considered to be his breakthrough.

Owing to the director’s one successful production after the other, viewers have high hopes from ‘Fitrat’ as well and are excited for it. However, to their disappointment, neither the cast of the serial nor its releasing date has been announced yet since the production is in its very initial stages

Owing to the director’s one successful production after the other, the viewers have high hopes from ‘Fitrat’ as well and are excited for it. However, to their disappointment, neither the cast of the serial nor its releasing date has been announced yet since the production is in its very initial stages. Jabal is always extremely careful about the cast and chooses it after a thorough reading of the script and after observing each character’s psychology and dialogues. For now, it is only the title and the signing of the project that have been finalised.

One thing which we can guess is that it will be a family-oriented project, for Asad Jabal believes that people should be careful about the society for which they are making dramas so that the viewers are able to relate to the story as much as possible and the characters may seem life-like to them. This inclines us to think of “Fitrat” as a serial which will be rooted in Pakistani culture. From its title, another idea that can be deduced is that it might be based on human nature, demonstrating how it never changes despite apparently altered behaviour.

“Fitrat” has been written by Nuzhat Saman, a prolific playwright who has worked for various channels and has the projects, “Love in Gulshan e Behaar”, “Sangsaar”, Aik Hi Bhool”, “Susraal Mera” and “Dil e Barbaad” to her name.

Let’s hope that the whole team of “Fitrat” fulfills the viewers’ expectations and attain success in this era marked by a rampant production of drama serials, resulting in a tough competition between channels.
