EDINBURGH: Snow storms halted routine work in Ireland and forced Britain to call the army in to battle with the worst weather seen in nearly 30 years on Friday.
After the Siberian weather worsened, Southern Britain was hit by massive storms which blocked roads, trains and grounded planes.
Moreover, three feet of snow accumulation cut power supply to at least 24,000 homes and businesses.
Due to heavy snow, red weather warning remained in place across the country. Irish stock exchange was closed, while all the schools were closed and all the flights were cancelled.
A seven-year-old girl was killed in a car accident caused by icy conditions, while many passengers were forced to stay in trains overnight in Southern England.
The army and National Health Service (NHS) were called in to help hundreds of drivers stuck in the snow.
