
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has called for urgent de-escalation amid rising regional tensions, stressing respect for state sovereignty and territorial integrity. Dar made the remarks during a call with Kuwait’s foreign minister as Gulf security concerns increased.
Dar held a telephone conversation with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Saturday. The two officials discussed recent regional developments and emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability.

The Kuwaiti foreign minister expressed concern over continued attacks on Kuwait’s territory and urged all sides to exercise restraint. He also hoped that the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would be fully implemented.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Jarrah praised Pakistan’s role in promoting dialogue and regional stability. Both officials stressed the need to honor ceasefire commitments and avoid actions that could further increase tensions.
Dar said regional peace and security should remain the highest priority for all countries. He emphasized that protecting sovereignty and territorial integrity was essential for maintaining stability across the region.

Earlier, Pakistan and China jointly urged the United States and Iran to immediately end military hostilities and return to negotiations. The call came after renewed clashes threatened regional stability and the previous ceasefire agreement.
During a meeting in Shanghai, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Dar expressed concern over the worsening situation. The two sides agreed to remain engaged and called on all parties to fulfill commitments under the ceasefire MoU.
