Govt launches Hajj 2027 registration process

Published on: June 23, 2026 10:10 AM

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf launched the registration process for Hajj 2027, announcing that the system has been fully digitized with the cooperation of the National Information Technology Board to ensure transparency, convenience, and faster services.

Addressing the launching ceremony of Hajj registration 2027 and speaking to the media here, he said that registration for Hajj 2027 has started today and would be completely free of charge, with no fees required. He stated that registration would be conducted on a “first come, first served” basis and would be mandatory for both government and private Hajj schemes. He further clarified that without registration, submission of Hajj applications for 2027 would not be possible.

The minister said that intending pilgrims must possess a valid passport with at least validity up to November 26, 2027.

However, he added that registration could also be completed without a passport at this stage.

According to him, members of the same family could register jointly, and overseas Pakistanis would also be able to register from any country in the world.

He said registration could be completed within minutes from home through the online portal or the mobile application Pak Hajj.

He urged aspiring pilgrims to complete their registration on time, as selection of either government or private Hajj schemes would only be possible after registration.

Responding to a question, the minister said that Hajj 2026 proved to be the most successful Hajj in Pakistan’s history, with pilgrims highly satisfied with arrangements. He added that full implementation was ensured under the instructions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and with strong cooperation from the Saudi government and the Saudi ambassador in Pakistan.

He further informed that the Road to Makkah scheme was also launched from Lahore this year, and about 80 percent of Pakistani pilgrims benefited from this facility.

Sardar Yousuf said the ministry received less than one percent complaints, reflecting the confidence of pilgrims in the arrangements. Sardar Muhammad Yousaf also said that work was underway on estimating refunds for Pakistani pilgrims who performed Hajj this year.
